AI SDR or human SDR: what each does well

Updated: 19 October 2026

Short answer: AI SDR agents are good at the volume work: researching accounts, writing personalised email and LinkedIn messages, timing follow-ups and sorting replies. Human SDRs are better at live conversations: cold calls, qualification and objection handling. For most B2B teams the best result comes from both: AI prepares and follows up, people talk and qualify. That is the model Pairline uses.

The Pairline service has not launched yet. We are currently gauging interest: the plans and prices on this site are indicative, do not constitute an offer, and submitting the form does not create a contract.

What AI agents do well

  • Account and decision-maker research before the first message.
  • Personalised email and LinkedIn messages, based on approved scripts.
  • Multi-step, timed follow-ups that never skip a step.
  • Sorting replies and booking meetings.

Where people still win

  • Cold calls and qualification on the phone.
  • Handling objections in a live conversation.
  • A brief before every meeting, with what was heard on the call.
  • Tuning the scripts from real feedback.

Trust is built in conversation. A decision-maker with questions, doubts or a different priority needs someone who listens and adapts on the spot.

Risks of AI-only outreach

  • Messages that read as automated can hurt your brand.
  • Sending volume without domain warm-up damages deliverability.
  • Nobody picks up when a prospect wants to talk now.
  • Qualification stays shallow without a conversation.

How Pairline combines them

Every plan includes the AI layer. AI Start is AI only; from Core a human SDR makes the calls: about 10 hours a week on Core, 20 on Growth, and a dedicated SDR on Dedicated. Every message goes out in your voice, based on scripts you approve, and every call and email is logged in a shared CRM.

Questions and answers

Can an AI SDR replace a salesperson?

For research and written follow-up, largely yes. Cold calls, qualification and objection handling still work best with a person, which is why Pairline keeps them human. Closing stays with your team.

Does Pairline use AI voice calls?

No. Calls and live conversations are always handled by a person: the SDR assigned to you.

Which Pairline plan is AI only?

AI Start, at €490 a month: AI-built account lists, email and LinkedIn sequences, reply handling and meeting booking, plus €50 per accepted meeting. Human calls start with Core.
